Deck the Moose -- Sewn Togehter Challenge with The Cutting Cafe

Yikes! It's been a crazy couple of weeks at my house. The H1N1 flu finally caught up with us. I was lucky & did get sick, but I was kept awfully busy taking temps, dispensing Tamiflu, and administering breathing treatments. Yuck! I'm thankful that everyone is feeling better and things are beginning to get back to normal. I'm ready to get back to my message boards and blogs! Alright, enough of that, and on to the fun stuff. This week's challenge at Sew Many Cards is to make a Christmas card using a Sewn Together digi stamp. I used the "Merry Christmoose" Morty image for my card and teamed it with a couple of ornaments from the Bubs for the Holidays collection at The Cutting Cafe. Regina at The Cutting Cafe is sponsoring this week's SMC challenge, so be sure and check out all her fabulous designs. Also remember to stop by the SMC blog to see all the design teams awesome creations. The deadline to enter this week's challenge is midnight (est) Monday, November 30. We would love to see your Christmas creation with a Sewn Together image paired with one from The Cutting Cafe. Hope you get a chance to play with us this week. The winner will receive 3 Cutting Cafe images. How awesome is that! Here's a great big Thank You to Regina for sponsoring our challenge this week. I hope everyone has a safe and blessed Thanksgiving with family and friends! God bless!!

Sew Many Cards November Release Party

It's finally here! After a week of sneak peeks, scavenger hunts, and blog hops, Angela is ready to reveal her new images. My assignment for the release party was the November Value Pack. This a super deal. You get 6 digi stamps (Donkey with a turkey, leaf, acron, pie, applels, and a crow) for only $6. Angela ask me to create something other than a card using this pack. I remembered seeing a very elegant table runner in a craft magazine about a month ago. The letters were gold embossed, and it was tied together with gold cord. Although I loved the look, I knew it would never work with my wild bunch. I just don't think my kids are quiet ready for gold embossing, china, and crystal. YIKES! So I decide to try a less formal verison for the release party. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be, and you can adapt it to fit many different occassions -- birthday parties, Christmas, baby showers, etc. Here's the recipe:
Cut cs into 4 X 6 rectangles (you'll need one for each letter and image)
Cut the same number of 3 1/2 X 5 1/2 rectangles from pp
Cut out letters (I used my Cricut with the Storybook cart)
Color image(s)
Glue layers and emblish with smaller images
Punch two holes into each side of the cs
Thread ribbon thru holes and tie
Be sure and check out all the super new images and the design teams' terrific creations at the Sew Many Cards blog and at our Release Party Spot. Thanks so much for playing along with us this week. God bless.

Sew Many Challenge # 6

Happy Tuesday!! It's challenge time at Sewn Many Cards. This week's challenge is to make a stair step card using any Sewn Together digital stamp. This was my first time to use the stair step technique, and I admit it was quite "challenging" for me. I've spent too many years making 12x12 scrap los, and filling all those little spaces was tough. However, now that I've done one, I'm hooked and have actually started 2 more.

For my card, I used papers from the HOTP Citrus Pack. All the brads also came from HOTP. I colored Eris with my Bic markers and chalked the edges. The presents and balloons are from the Sewn Together Birthday pack. I cut the images out and mounted them on foam tape. The balloon strings are DMC thread, and the ribbon is from my stash.

I hope you join us for this week's fun challenge. Please check out Angela's blog for the rest of the design team's terrific cards, and don't forget to get this week's free digi stamp. It's a cutie!! The deadline to enter this week's challenge is midnight (est) Monday, October 5. Angela has free stamps for the winner. Hope to see your entry! Have a great week. God bless you!

Good morning. It's Friday once again, so that means its time for another challenge at Paper Cutz Challenge. For my project I used another digi stamp from the Sewn Together line @ Sew Many Cards (I know -- I'm a little obsessed with these stamps!) The images was printed on a scalloped circle cut with the Storybook Cricut cart and colored with my bic markers. The "Trick or Treat" stamp is from Stampabilities. I used Tim Holtz Distressed ink in Walnut Stain, and then chalked the edges in brown. I mounted the 2 images on a tag cut with the George and Basic Shapes cart. The pp came from Paper Wishes and the suede cord is from WalMart. I hope everyone has a chance to join this week's challenge, and I look forward to seeing your creations. Happy crafting! Hi everyone. This week's Paper Cutz Challenge is too make a baby card, project, or layout using yellow, green and orange? Yikes!! I was really stuck on this one until I found a few scraps of stripe paper from the HOTP Citrus pack (I love the paper in this pack!). The yellow paper is from the same pack. The green card stock came from my stash and was embossed using my Cuttlebug. I used the 20 Blossoms template from HOTP for the flowers.

Sewn Together Challenge #1

Hi everyone. I hope you're having a great week. It's time for the very first challenge over at Sewn Together Digital Stamps. The challenge is to make a card, layout, or other paper craft using your favorite Sewn Together design. I couldn't decide which stamp was my favorite, but this one of Miki is one of them. This card was so much fun to make. The stamp was colored with Bic markers. The paper is from the HOTP Citrus pack. The ovals and tags were cut with my Cricut using the George and Basic Shape cartridge. I made the little envelope using a template I found on the internet a while ago. I used my Cuttlebug to cut the letters and flowers, and everything was inked using Tim Holtz Black Distress Ink. Be sure to check out all the design team's projects and then join the fun by submitting one of your own. Angela has 2 Christmas stamps you can download for free, and this week's challenge winner gets 3 free stamps, so get busy everyone. Thanks for stopping by. God bless you!

Paper Cutz Challenge #5

It's time again for another great challenge at Paper Cutz. This week's challenge is to make a card, layout, or other paper craft using something that flies -- butterflies, birds, etc. My lo is a little different. I hope Mary doesn't mind. I've been working on scrapping last summer's Disney vacation, so this is what I came up with. It looks better irl. There's pixie dust (white glitter) on some of the words and the picture on the right that really doesn't show up well in the picture.

It didn't turn out exactly as I had planned, but my projects rarely do. Let me know what you think, and be sure to check out all the great projects from the other design team members. Mary is giving away a set of Spring and Summer Brad Buddies from HOTP to the winner of this week's challenge, so be sure to submitted your entry by midnight (eastern time) Thursday. Thanks for stopping by.

Paper Cutz Challenge -- Week # 4

I am a design team member for a great blog -- Paper Cutz Challenge. PPC has weekly challenges with great prizes. I wanted to share with you my take on this week's challenge -- design a Halloween card, lo, or project without using black or orange. This was my first attempt at iris folding, and I really enjoyed it. I can't wait to try again with patterned paper. I used the "fork" method on my bow. The cs, ribbon, and brads were all from my stash. The iris folding pattern came from here. This site has several free patterns available.
Check out the Paper Cutz Challenge blog to see the awesome projects created by the rest of the design team.

Hello

Hello and welcome to my blog. I am a part-time SAHM and part-time accountant. I started scrapping right after my oldest daughter was born 12 years ago. For the next 11 years, demands from my family and work really limited my crafting time. During the last few months, I've had more time to scrap and I've also gotten into making cards. I love trying new techniques and projects. I look forward to meeting you and sharing ideas. Thanks for stopping by. God bless you.
