It's been a crazy couple of weeks at my house. The H1N1 flu finally caught up with us. I was lucky & did get sick, but I was kept awfully busy taking temps, dispensing Tamiflu, and administering breathing treatments. Yuck! I'm thankful that everyone is feeling better and things are beginning to get back to normal. I'm ready to get back to my message boards and blogs! Alright, enough of that, and on to the fun stuff. This week's challenge at Sew Many Cards is to make a Christmas card using a Sewn Together digi stamp. I used the "Merry Christmoose" Morty image for my card and teamed it with a couple of ornaments from the Bubs for the Holidays collection at The Cutting Cafe. Regina at The Cutting Cafe is sponsoring this week's SMC challenge, so be sure and check out all her fabulous designs. Also remember to stop by the SMC blog to see all the design teams awesome creations. The deadline to enter this week's challenge is midnight (est) Monday, November 30. We would love to see your Christmas creation with a Sewn Together image paired with one from The Cutting Cafe. Hope you get a chance to play with us this week. The winner will receive 3 Cutting Cafe images. How awesome is that! Here's a great big Thank You to Regina for sponsoring our challenge this week. I hope everyone has a safe and blessed Thanksgiving with family and friends! God bless!!

SheilaSheilahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17647257395812487374noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2457860364585677284.post-31099096449736978242009-11-13T09:51:00.002-06:002009-11-13T09:54:52.413-06:00Freebie Friday at Sew Many Cards It's Friday once again and that means Angela @ Sew Many Cards has a new free digi stamp for us. After a week of sneak peeks, scavenger hunts, and blog hops, Angela is ready to reveal her new images. My assignment for the release party was the November Value Pack. This a super deal. You get 6 digi stamps (Donkey with a turkey, leaf, acron, pie, applels, and a crow) for only $6. Angela ask me to create something other than a card using this pack. I remembered seeing a very elegant table runner in a craft magazine about a month ago. The letters were gold embossed, and it was tied together with gold cord. Although I loved the look, I knew it would never work with my wild bunch. I just don't think my kids are quiet ready for gold embossing, china, and crystal. YIKES! So I decide to try a less formal verison for the release party. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be, and you can adapt it to fit many different occassions -- birthday parties, Christmas, baby showers, etc. Here's the recipe:

Cut cs into 4 X 6 rectangles (you'll need one for each letter and image)

Cut the same number of 3 1/2 X 5 1/2 rectangles from pp

Cut out letters (I used my Cricut with the Storybook cart)

Color image(s)

Glue layers and emblish with smaller images

Punch two holes into each side of the cs

Thread ribbon thru holes and tie

Be sure and check out all the super new images and the design teams' terrific creations at the Sew Many Cards blog and at our Release Party Spot. Happy Tuesday! It's challenge time again at Sew Many Cards. This week challenge is to create a card or other paper craft project using stitching along with a Sewn Together image. Since I hate to sew (sorry Angela), my stitching is faux, but you can also use a machine or hand stitch your creation. You can check out Angela's blog for lots of inspiration from my fellow design team members and for this week's free digi stamp. The deadline to enter is midnight, Monday, November 9. Hope you can play with us this week. It's time for Paper Cutz Challenge # 15! This week's challenge is to make a card or other paper craft using stars. This on was pretty easy and gave me a chance to use these great Stacked Star Dazzles from Paper Wishes. My star was made with 3 dazzles in different sizes. I mounted them on cs, cut them out, and used pop dots between the layers. The sentiment came from the Phrases Dazzle pack and the pp is from Paper Wishes also. The design team has some awesome projects to inspire you, so be sure to check them out. Remember deadline to enter this week's challenge is 12 pm (est) Thursday, November 5.

Sheilahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17647257395812487374noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2457860364585677284.post-45642576663336782082009-10-27T10:00:00.000-05:002009-10-27T10:00:01.447-05:00Sew Many Cards Challenge # 10

Good Tuesday morning! It's challenge time at Sewn Many Cards. This week's challenge is to make a stair step card using any Sewn Together digital stamp. This was my first time to use the stair step technique, and I admit it was quite "challenging" for me. I've spent too many years making 12x12 scrap los, and filling all those little spaces was tough. However, now that I've done one, I'm hooked and have actually started 2 more.

For my card, I used papers from the HOTP Citrus Pack. All the brads also came from HOTP. I colored Eris with my Bic markers and chalked the edges. The presents and balloons are from the Sewn Together Birthday pack. I cut the images out and mounted them on foam tape. The balloon strings are DMC thread, and the ribbon is from my stash.

I hope you join us for this week's fun challenge. Please check out Angela's blog for the rest of the design team's terrific cards, and don't forget to get this week's free digi stamp. It's a cutie!! The deadline to enter this week's challenge is midnight (est) Monday, October 5. Angela has free stamps for the winner. Hope to see your entry! Have a great week. God bless you!

Sheila

Sheilahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17647257395812487374noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2457860364585677284.post-35774005761638091022009-09-25T13:52:00.002-05:002009-09-25T14:09:30.830-05:00Blog hops & Freebie Friday!!Oh boy, there's lots of great stuff going on today! It's Friday once again, so that means its time for another challenge at Paper Cutz Challenge. Mary has a super easy challenge for us this week -- make a paper craft project using at least 3 buttons. You can use any theme and colors. She has 3 sets of Back to School 3d die cuts from Keepsake for this week's winner, so be sure and get your entry posted to the PCC blog by midnight (EST) on October 1. Also be sure and check out all the other designer's terrific projects for loads of inspiration.

For my project I used another digi stamp from the Sewn Together line @ Sew Many Cards (I know -- I'm a little obsessed with these stamps!) The images was printed on a scalloped circle cut with the Storybook Cricut cart and colored with my bic markers. The "Trick or Treat" stamp is from Stampabilities. I used Tim Holtz Distressed ink in Walnut Stain, and then chalked the edges in brown. I mounted the 2 images on a tag cut with the George and Basic Shapes cart. The pp came from Paper Wishes and the suede cord is from WalMart. I hope everyone has a chance to join this week's challenge, and I look forward to seeing your creations. Happy crafting! God bless you!!

Sheila
Sheilahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17647257395812487374noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2457860364585677284.post-2000421261490226222009-09-21T17:29:00.003-05:002009-09-22T12:30:00.974-05:00Sewn Together Challenge # 5

Happy Tuesday! It challenge time at Sewn Together, again. This week's challange is to make a paper project using one of Angela's donkey designs. Pretty easy, huh? I promise the hardest part of this challenge is will be having to decide which stamp to use! For my card, I used bic markers to color the digital stamp. The paper all came from my scrap piles. I inked all the edges black, cut out and mounted donkey on foam tape, and then inserted the eyelets and used black DMC thread for the lacing. Now it's your turn. Visit the Sew Many Cards blog today to see all the projects submitted by the design team. The deadline to enter this week's challenge is midnight (eastern time) on Monday, Sept 28. The winner will receive 3 Sewn Together images and HOTP Swirls Template. I'm looking forward to seeing your creations! Hope everyone has a wonderful week.
